Central Michigan soccer coach Jeremy Groves and his staff are excited to announce the addition of the first annual CMU 3v3 Summer Soccer Tournament. 3v3 soccer is specifically designed to develop players to improve their technical ability, speed of play, and decision making on and off the field. Coaches and players agree – 3v3 soccer is the best way to develop skills. Using a small field and maximizing player touches, 3v3 teaches players the game of soccer within the game of soccer. Players leave each 3v3 session with a passion to learn more and play more.
The boy’s 3v3 tournament will be played on Saturday, July 27th, and the girl’s tournament will be played on Sunday, July 28th. The tournaments will be held at the state-of-the-art soccer complex on Central Michigan University’s campus. The registration fee is $195 per team with a maximum of 6 on the roster. There are no club affiliations, player cards, or certified coaches needed for this tournament. Any 3-6 players can get together and create a fun team name to join the tournament with a parent “coach.” This tournament is open to players ages 5-18 with the age groups grouped by birth year based on the oldest player on the team. Co-ed teams are accepted but may be asked to play in the all- male age divisions. The quick starts with kick-ins and quick substitutions allow the players to have plenty of playing time during the 25-minute games. Each team is guaranteed 4 games. No rosters have to be given until registration on the day of the tournament.
Open to any and all entrants. The cost of any awards are included in the cost of attendance.
